This year I’m sharing more Indian designers to make your life easier! I wish I had someone to share designers with me, so I wasn’t so lost when shopping for Indian clothing. Walking around India and stumbling across a nice outfit is not possible for everyone. ESPECIALLY during Covid. The whole anxiety of shopping in India is not knowing what designers are out there.
My first designer of 2022 is Vivek Patel. This designer’s clothing falls into my affordable Desi outfits category. His designs remind me of Gaurav Gupta. If you don’t know who Gaurav Gupta is, then let me tell you. He’s known for his draped gowns with intricate designs. Right now he’s playing with a lot of architectural sleeve play. When I started researching Vivek Patel, I noticed that he actually worked WITH Gaurav Gupta. Which makes so much sense! His designs are perfect for Indian wedding guests that are looking for something trendy without breaking the bank.
Late last year he started designing resort wear. I’m not going to lie, I want to cop some pieces for my vacations this year and for my western American weddings! A lot of slits and co-ord sets!
This mauve draped number is one of my favorites. First of all the color is super unique! It’s perfect for those that don’t want a pastel but don’t want a bright color either. The blouse with the halter neck is my favorite and the belt ties it together. I would 100% wear this to a reception!
Here is the classic gown I would say. If there is a signature piece that Vivek Patel has, it’s this gown. He has various colors in these types of gowns. They’re all a bit different, but the same concept. Sheer blouses with some embroidery and draped gathered gown.
This particular piece caught my eye because I thought it would be perfect for a momma to be! It would make a stunning baby shower party outfit or for maternity photos.
